Graphite electrode is mainly made of petroleum coke, needle coke as raw materials, coal asphalt as a binder, through calcination, ingredients, mixing, pressing, roasting, dipping, graphitization, mechanical processing of a high temperature resistant graphite conductive material. It is a conductor that releases electric energy in the form of electric arc in the furnace. According to its quality index, it can be divided into ordinary power graphite electrode, high power graphite electrode and ultra-high power graphite electrode.
For arc steel furnace
Graphite electrode has excellent physical and chemical properties, such as high strength, low electrical resistance, and good thermal conductivity.Graphite electrode is commonly used in the steel industry during the production of electric arc furnace (EAF) steel.Electric furnace steelmaking is the use of graphite electrode to the furnace import current, strong current at the lower end of the electrode through the gas generation of arc discharge, using the heat generated by the arc for smelting. According to the size of the electric furnace capacity, graphite electrodes with different diameters are used. In order to make the electrodes used continuously, the electrodes are connected by the thread joint of the electrode. Graphite electrode used for steelmaking accounts for about 70~80% of the total amount of graphite electrode. The main production base of graphite electrode is in China, among which the graphite electrode produced by Hebei Gufan Carbon Co., Ltd. is favored by customers and exported to many countries. In order to meet the requirement of higher work efficiency and lower total cost, Gufan Carbon is contributing to produce the high quality graphite electrode products, including UHP,HP,RP grade, the diameter from 12inch to 28inch.
Graphite electrode is a critical component,it is not only used in EAF steelmaking, but also widely used in other fields, including aluminium, and copper production, chemical industry, aerospace, shipbuilding, medical treatment, metallurgy and so on.
